On why I never look at some people in the eye.

I was telling Lamama the other day how when I don't like somebody and, for one reason or another I find myself engaged in conversation with Her/Him I always look up, down or sideways but never at them.
I know why now.
I don't look at them because I'm talking to myself and not them, I only use the listener to go into one of those self fulfilling speeches and said individual keeps other people in the room from thinking I'm crazy.
